These pictures were taken a few weeks ago in between the horrid heat.
Our river front. It's my go-to "happy" place. The city works hard on keeping those fountains in good working order.
The lamp posts have either flower baskets hanging from them or, as you can see above, new Perrigo banners. They are celebrating their 125th year.
The boardwalk is a favorite strolling spot for many people in town. Including dogs.
A view of the gazebo from the river.
Squint your eyes and you can see people sitting at the picnic tables way back there having lunch.
Here is the reason our hanging baskets and planters look so wonderful.
Our iron bridge.
When you're exhausted after shopping in downtown Allegan and just can't take another step - have a seat. If you do this during the noon hour you'll be able to see a ton o' people. Wave and say "hey."
Here's a better picture of those Perrigo banners I was talking about. The L.Perrigo Company makes health and beauty aides. Think vitamins, cold remedies, etc.
Allegan is a small town and that's what I love about it. I haven't come close to showing you everything yet so stay tuned.
Nice photos...there are many great things about this little place.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Ellen. Thanks for giving me a way to show off our town to my friends elsewhere. I just send 'em to your blog!
ReplyDeleteSal - glad to know you enjoy my blog; I certainly enjoy writing it. Thanks for sending it off to friends, too.
DeleteThese pictures are gorgeous!!! and yes, Allegan is indeed a cute, quaint little town....
ReplyDeleteYears ago we were on a car trip with Lisa and stayed in a very cool little town out east.
DeleteLisa said, "you know why we like this town so much? It's just like home."
So true.
Great pictures. What kind of camera do you have?
ReplyDeleteNothing fancy, that's for sure, Janis. It's a Nikon Coolpix.
DeleteThanks.
