Petey and I were bored silly and decided to go looking for a movie. The only one that looked slightly interesting (we're not into animation, sci-fi or fantasy so the pickins are usually pretty slim) was called Long Shot.
I won't give the plot away but I will tell you there were several belly laughs. It also poked major fun at politics.
Good so far.
What started to annoy me was the gratuitous F-bomb. Don't get me wrong, I can swear right along side the nearest drunken sailor but I like my swearing to pack a punch. Ya know? An attention grabber.
After the 57th time, it has lost its meaning and seems to dumb down the person swearing.
The two main stars in this movie are Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen. Their characters are portrayed as very intelligent and savvy as all get-out.
Seth is a sort of grubby looking dude so I was ok with the bombs from him although . . . . still over done.
Charlize, on the other hand, is gorgeous and very, very chic. It would still be funny to hear a woman that looks like her rip off a cuss word (you're not expecting it) but way, way too many times. Wasn't funny any more.
I expected more from them. You know, the kind of vocabulary that takes you a nano-second to realize they've just dressed you down to a bleeding mass of skin before you know it?
So if the language doesn't bother you, go see it. It had an Officer and a Gentleman feel to it.
